Fourier TTS
₹1.80 per 1,000 characters.²
And ₹18 an hour to transcribe a recorded call. Both from one rupee wallet.
Murf alternative
Fourier TTS is made for calls: Hindi that slips into English mid-sentence, 8 kHz audio for the line, and a rupee wallet.
Why switch
Everything a phone call in India needs, from one team, priced in rupees.
₹1.80 per 1,000 characters.²
And ₹18 an hour to transcribe a recorded call. Both from one rupee wallet.
Hindi, English, Gujarati, Tamil and Telugu. And the Hinglish in between, mid-sentence.
The listening, the thinking and the voice are ours: Fourier STT, Gemma 4 26B and Fourier TTS.
Ask for 8 kHz μ-law or A-law and send it straight down the line. Or take 48 kHz PCM for everything else.
When you want the whole call, the same key and wallet run our voice agents.

Hear itMurf costs less per character, so here is what you get for more
Murf charges less per character than we do, and it speaks more languages. Falcon is $0.01 per 1,000 characters against our ₹1.80. We spend the difference on voices built for phone calls in Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu and English, five concurrent requests on pay as you go, GPUs in India on every plan, and full phone agents on the same key.
Let’s start with the number that is not in our favour. Murf’s Falcon costs $0.01 per 1,000 characters. Fourier TTS costs ₹1.80. At the ECB rate, Falcon is about half our price. Murf also speaks 35 languages to our five, and its voice library runs to 27 rows of Hindi voices.
So why pay more? Because our voices were made for one job: the phone call in India. They were trained on the way people here actually talk, with English words landing inside Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil or Telugu sentences, and they are served from our own GPUs in India on every plan. Murf’s India region is an Enterprise option, and its account data stays in the United States.
Murf’s catalogue was built for creators first. Its site sells a Studio app for voiceovers, dubbing in 25 languages and a voice changer, alongside the API. That breadth is real, and it shows in the voice count.
Ours is narrower. Four voices, each speaking Hindi, English, Gujarati, Tamil and Telugu, each tested on the line it will be heard on. Ask for 8 kHz μ-law and the audio goes straight down a phone line. Murf streams the same formats, so the test is fair: play both on a real call and listen for which one your customers trust.

Ten lakh characters of Falcon cost ₹950 at the ECB rate, and Gen2 costs ₹2,849. Fourier TTS costs ₹1,800, on pay as you go and on Business alike. One thing to check: Murf’s API landing page prices Falcon at $0.01 a minute, while its pricing FAQ and docs say per 1,000 characters. We charted per 1,000 characters, and your account will show which one applies.
An hour of Murf’s speech to text is ₹22.79, in Beta and India region only. Ours is ₹18, with speaker labels included.
On Murf’s free tier and pay as you go, Falcon allows 5 requests at a time on its US-East endpoint and 2 on its India endpoint. More needs an Enterprise plan. Our pay-as-you-go plan allows 5, and Business allows 25. Once a few calls are speaking at the same moment, that limit matters more than the price per character.

Murf prices per 1,000 characters, so 10 lakh is 1,000 of them: $0.01 × 1,000 = $10 for Falcon, and $30 for Gen2. Murf's API landing page says $0.01 / min; its pricing FAQ and docs say per 1,000 characters, and we charted those.

Which to pick
Sometimes it's them. We'll say so.
Price per character, by a clear margin. Languages: 35 to our five, with Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia and Assamese voices we don’t have yet. Eleven data-residency regions on Enterprise. Dubbing, translation and a voice changer from the same account. If you need any of those today, Murf is the better fit.
Moving
Your code stays. Three values change.
Step 1
Look around with no sign-up. When you are ready, create a key in Developers.
Step 2
The base URL, the model and the voice. The rest of your OpenAI code stays as it is.
Step 3
Four voices, each speaking Hindi, English, Gujarati, Tamil and Telugu.
Fourier TTS speaks OpenAI’s speech API, so there is no Murf-shaped request to translate. Point an OpenAI client at our URL, set the model to mira-tts, pick a voice and send the text. For live calls, our WebSocket endpoint takes text as your model writes it and returns audio a sentence at a time. The OpenAI-compatible TTS guide has the first request in Python and cURL.
Take twenty lines from your real calls, with names, rupee amounts and the English words your customers use. Render them on Falcon and on Fourier TTS, play them blind to people who speak the language every day, and then once more over an actual phone line. The Hindi TTS comparison lists what the other Hindi voices cost.
And if the voice is for an agent, we can take the whole call: ₹1 a minute on the volume plan.

Murf. Falcon is $0.01 per 1,000 characters, about ₹950 per 10 lakh at the ECB rate. Fourier TTS is ₹1,800 per 10 lakh. If price per character is the whole decision, Murf wins it. We charge more and spend it on voices built for Indian phone calls, five requests at once on pay as you go, and GPUs in India on every plan.
Both appear on Murf's site. The API landing page says $0.01 / min, and its pricing FAQ and docs say $0.01 per 1,000 characters. We charted per 1,000 characters, which is how its docs describe billing. Check which one your account shows.
Its API docs cover text to speech, speech to text, dubbing, translation and a voice changer, with 8 kHz formats for telephony audio. Phone numbers, SIP trunks and campaigns are not in those docs. With us, the same key runs full phone agents at ₹5 a minute pay as you go, line included.
No. ₹1 a minute is a whole phone agent on our volume plan. The voice on its own is ₹1.80 per 1,000 characters.
