Hear itTwilio carries the call; you still bring the model
Twilio ConversationRelay turns a phone call into text for your app and speaks your replies back, with Google, Deepgram, Amazon and ElevenLabs doing the listening and the speaking. You bring the language model and host the WebSocket. We sell the whole call: our own speech recognition, model and voice, on our GPUs in India, priced in rupees with the line inside on pay as you go.
Twilio is the pipe a lot of the world’s calls run through, and ConversationRelay is its AI leg. It listens with Google or Deepgram, speaks with Google, Amazon or ElevenLabs, and sends the caller’s words to a WebSocket you host. Your server answers with text, from whichever language model you pay for. If you already live in TwiML, that is a tidy way to add an agent.
It is also three things to run and three bills to read. The AI leg, the call leg and the model each have their own price, in dollars. And the India guideline is strict about numbers: outbound calls to India can only be made from international (non-Indian) numbers, so the customer sees a foreign number ring.
We sell the whole call. The speech recognition, the model and the voice are ours. The model is the open Gemma 4 26B, on our own GPUs in India, where every call runs. On pay as you go the phone line is in the price, and the agent calls from a +91 number.

Each bar is one minute as Twilio’s own pages price it, layer by layer, beside ours from our price list. A hatched end is a part of the call their price leaves out and publishes no number for, so it has no length.
Twilio's US pricing page lists Conversation Relay at $0.07 / min and does not say whether the speech recognition and the voice are inside it. Its India page prices the outbound call leg at $0.0496 / min to a mobile and $0.0699 / min to a landline. Your language model runs on your own server at its own price, so it has no length here. At the ECB rate the two legs to a mobile come to ₹11.36 a minute.

The chart shows the plan you choose above beside the price it pairs with: our T1 and T3 beside Twilio’s volume price, our T5 beside its pay-as-you-go price. Without that choice, every bar is listed.

Twilio lists Conversation Relay at $0.07 / min, about ₹6.65 at the ECB rate. The call leg to an Indian mobile is $0.0496 / min, ₹4.71, and to a landline $0.0699 / min, ₹6.64. So a minute to a mobile is ₹11.36 before your model and the server it runs on. Twilio’s page doesn’t say whether the listening and the speaking are inside the $0.07.
Ours is ₹5 a minute on pay as you go, with the line, the model and the voice inside. So 1,000 minutes cost ₹5,000. When your volume is steady, the volume plan takes it to ₹1 a minute. We bill in 10-second blocks, and if nobody picks up, you pay nothing. The India API guide walks through the rest.
Twilio ConversationRelay is the pipe: it carries the call and relays speech as text to a server you run, where your own language model answers. We are the models and the platform.

Which to pick
Sometimes it's them. We'll say so.
Reach. Twilio calls almost every country and sells numbers in most of them. We call India. Twilio hands a call to a person through your own TwiML, which we can’t do yet. You choose the language model, and you can name the voice vendor. And if your whole phone system is already on Twilio, keeping the agent on the same account has a value of its own.
Moving
Bring the agent you have. Most of it carries across.
Step 1
Look around with no sign-up. We ask for an email only when you test a call.
Step 2
Paste the prompt you already wrote into Agent Studio, and pick a voice and a language.
Step 3
Test it in your browser or on your own phone, then go live the same day.
The prompt your server sends to its model becomes the agent’s prompt in Agent Studio. Your first message becomes the greeting. The WebSocket server goes away: you start a call with POST /v2/calls, and the transcript and outcome come back as a signed webhook, which the webhooks guide describes field by field. The Python quickstart makes the first real call in five minutes.
Then put both on your own phone, with your real script, and listen.
Questions
On Twilio, ConversationRelay at $0.07 / min is $70, and the outbound mobile leg at $0.0496 / min is $49.60. Together that is ₹11,357 at the ECB rate, before your own language model and the server it runs on. On our pay-as-you-go plan, 1,000 minutes cost ₹5,000, model and line included.
No. It is the ConversationRelay leg, about ₹6.65. The call itself is billed separately, and the language model is yours. Twilio's page doesn't say whether the speech recognition and the voice are inside the $0.07, so check with them before you forecast.
Twilio's own guideline for India says outbound calls to India can only be made from international (non-Indian) numbers. With us, you buy a +91 number or connect your Plivo one, so the customer sees an Indian number ring.
On Twilio, yes. ConversationRelay sends the caller's words to a WebSocket you host, and your code has to answer in real time with a model you pay for. With us the agent runs on our side. Your code starts a call with one POST and reads the result from a signed webhook.
